The public is invited to join St. Andrew United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 14, for the ‘HK5K.’

The ‘HK’ stands for Humankind Water. Did you know around 5,000 children will die today for no other reason than the lack of clean drinking water? Humankind Water is a non-profit company that is committed to delivering clean drinking water systems around the world for people who don’t have access to this basic human need that we so often take for granted.

Humankind Water is currently available at select Walmart Stores along the East Coast. Buying just one $1 bottle of water can give a person clean drinking water for a year! An amazing part of this project is that 100% of the net profits goes directly to fund water projects. The staff does not receive any money from the sales of bottled water. All money that is not used to make the product goes directly to providing clean water to those in need.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., the 5K starts at 9 a.m. and the 1 mile walk begins at 9:45. St. Andrew United Methodist Church is located at 611 Swamp Creek Road in New Berlinville.
