Man arrested for Disorderly Conduct, other charges: The Hamburg Borough Police report that Dustin James Davis, 21, from Mohrsville, was arrested for False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities, Resisting Arrest, False ID to Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Drunkenness. These charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred on Sunday, Nov. 23, at approx. 2:22 a.m. in the 200 Block of State Street in Hamburg.

Vehicle transporting mail avoids deer, slides down embankment: The Hamburg Borough Police report that a reportable traffic accident occurred on Sunday, Nov. 9, at approx. 3:25 a.m. on Route 61 between Grand & South 4th Street in Hamburg. Bogdan Vukovic, 56, from Mechanicsburg, was traveling south on Route 61, when he swerved to try to avoid hitting a deer on the roadway. Vukovic then lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the center median into the north bound lanes, swerved back into the south bound lanes, got off the roadway, and slid down the embankment. The vehicle was transporting US Mail. US Postal Service responded to the scene and retrieved all mail. No injuries reported at the scene, and Vukovic did have his seat belt on. Vehicle was towed from the scene.

Teen referred to Juvenile Court: The Hamburg Borough Police report that a 14-year old male juvenile from Hamburg was referred to Juvenile Court for Simple Assault, Harassment, Indecent Assault Without Consent of Other, and Indecent Assault – Forcible Compulsion. These charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred on Thursday, Oct. 2, and Sunday, Oct. 26, in the 100 Block of South 3rd Street in Hamburg.

Man arrested for Driving Under the Influence: The Hamburg Borough Police report that Marvin Stanley Cottrell, 23, from Hamburg, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance. This stems from an incident that allegedly occurred on Friday, Nov. 7, at approx. 3:06 a.m. in the 400 Block of State Street in Hamburg.

Two vehicle accident at Route 61 and Grand Street: The Hamburg Borough Police report that a reportable traffic accident occurred on Monday, Nov. 24, at approx. 7:14 a.m. on Route 61 at the Route 61 & Grand Street intersection in Hamburg. Erin J. Tobias, 27, from Reading, was stopped in the passing lane of north bound Route 61 for a steady red light. Henry E. Reber, 53, from the Schuylkill Haven area, was also traveling north bound in the passing lane when he failed to stop and struck Tobias’s vehicle in the rear. No injuries reported at the scene, all drivers had their seat belts on. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Teen referred to Juvenile Court: The Hamburg Borough Police report that a 14-year-old male juvenile from Hamburg was referred to Juvenile Court for Possession With Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia. This stems from an incident that allegedly occurred on Thursday, Nov. 20, at approx 8:55 a.m. at the Hamburg Area High School on Windsor Street in Hamburg.

Two cited for Unlawful to Make, Continue or Maintain Noise: The Hamburg Borough Police report that Briana Paulett Driscoll, 21, from Hamburg, was cited for Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful to Make, Continue or Maintain Noise. Also, Brandy Lyn Driscoll, 19, from Hamburg, was cited for Unlawful to Make, Continue or Maintain Noise. These charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred on Sunday, Nov. 23, at approx. 2:22 a.m. in the 200 Block of State Street in Hamburg.

Woman arrested for Assault and Harassment: The Hamburg Borough Police report that Sherryl L. Schappell, 55, from Hamburg, was arrested for Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment. These charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at approx 4:15 a.m. on Mountain View Court in Hamburg where Schappell refused to leave a relative’s house, and when the officer arrived it was discovered that she was wanted for an open warrant. Schappell resisted arrest and tried to attack the officer with a knife. No injuries were sustained. Schappell was arraigned at the Berks County Service Center.
