ELVERSON >> The Twin Valley High School Sports Hall of Fame Night will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, during the home football game against Wyomissing.
Carl L. Sims and Brenda Stuaffer-Hoffman, both members of the Class of 1979, will be inducted into the hall of fame.
There will be a reception at 6 p.m. in the physical education building classroom. The inductees will be announced during halftime on the 50-yard line.
Sims was a standout basketball and track & field athlete from 1975 through 1979. In basketball, he scored 1,450 points during his career. In track & field, he is the school record-holder in the 300 intermediate hurdles.
Sims served our country in the United States Army for 20 years.
Stauffer-Hoffman was a standout softball and field hockey player from 1975 through 1979. She was a member of the Raiders’ 1977 state softball championship team.
She was a bronze medalist for the 1984 Olympics USA Field Hockey Team. She went on to play Division I field hockey at Penn State University.
She later coached varsity field hockey at Twin Valley for 11 years.
