The Boyertown Historical Society will begin rolling out their end of the year calendar of events beginning this weekend Sept. 19 and 20 with a paranormal investigation and several Haunted Boyertown ghost tours.

Past paranormal investigations of the Society’s building had skeptics and believers alike rubbing goosebumps from arms as a woman’s presence thought to have died from tuberculosis or that of a little boy trapped in an upstairs room were discovered by investigators. This weekend’s investigation to be conducted by Ghost Hunters, Inc. of Reading, Pa cannot guarantee more paranormal findings but those who last investigated the old building at 43 S. Chestnut Street think the possibilities for more discoveries are endless and would like to welcome anyone interested in the unknown to join the Society for an evening of ghost hunting. Tickets will be sold at the door; the event begins at 9 p.m.

While the curious search the halls of the society building for paranormal activity those intrigued by the stories of the past will tour Boyertown’s downtown area covering an eight block stretch over the course of two hours beginning at 9pm. The tour covers the tragic events of the Rhoads Opera House Fire and the very many ghostly stories the Boyertown Area has to tell. Tickets are available at the door and will be held September 19, 20 and 27th.

Taking the paranormal on the road or for that matter on the rails, the Historic Society will welcome back renowned ghost expert and author Charles Adams for a haunted ride on the Colebrookdale Railroad and a bus tour of Boyertown will take visitors past the many buildings once called home now called haunted during the months of October and November.

The well-known Belsnickel Craft show will once again be held in the BASH Gymnasium November 28th and 29th with more than 100 ‘juried’ craft vendors filling the space. Goods sold exclude factory or foreign made products, only high quality hand-crafted wares are for sale. The event is a great chance for patrons to find unique gifts for anytime but especially the Christmas holiday.

With so many Historical Society happenings and many more to be added to the calendar, folks are encouraged visit BoyertownHistory.org or email HauntedBoyertown@gmail.com. People are also welcome to call (610) 367- 0630 with any questions. Discounts are available to those who have purchased or will purchase copies of Haunted Boyertown a book detailing the many ghost stories featured on tours.
