Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio has named Dan Faust in the Budding Artist Program for young local artists. The gallery and studio will kick-off their fall events by inviting the public to meet their next featured Budding Artist, Dan Faust, by joining them, along with many other local artists, for light refreshments on Friday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The program provides young, school age, artists, an opportunity to join over 200 local and national artisans in exhibiting and selling their crafts for a three-month period of time, free of charge.
Faust, a senior at Pope John Paul II High School, is the Gallery’s seventh Budding Artist and his work will be available from October, 2014, through December, 2014.
He has always loved drawing, even from his first scribbles with crayons when he was two, which his mom framed. Maybe she knew he was beginning a lifelong passion. Working on his art, whether drawing, painting or experimenting with photography, is something he finds very soothing. Although he expects a lot of changes as he starts his senior year of High School, he’s sure his art will remain the same and is comforted to know he can take it with him wherever he goes.
Much of Faust’s recent paintings are inspired by the desert scenery he saw when visiting his aunt and uncle in Tucson, AZ last summer. He loves the natural colors and light of the desert. He also finds inspiration for his art in the shore and loves spending time in Stone Harbor, NJ. ‘It’s the perfect place to paint, as well as surf and play Frisbee with my brother Tim, two of my other favorite pastimes,’ Faust says.
When not doing school work, playing tennis for the Pope John Paul II team, or serving up desserts at Rita’s Water Ice in Boyertown, he enjoys participating in triathlons on a relay team with his parents and helping care for his family’s flock of 22 chickens at their home in Barto.
Next year Faust plans to major in Computer Application design at one of the colleges he is visiting in Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland or Florida. He hopes his creativity will be an asset in designing software.
Dancing Tree Creations hopes community members will be able to join them to show encouragement to another young talented student.
