The 11th Annual Boyertown Area Unity Walk to be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. promises to be a fun time for all ages.

As last year, the Walk has moved to Saturday as part of Boyertown’s Turning Leaf Fall Festival running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. where all ages will find games, music, crafters, food and many other things to do. Plan to make it a family day out while participating in the Unity Walk around Boyertown.

Plus more fun can be had at 1 p.m. by learning how to ‘Line Dance’ at the Boyertown Junior High School parking lot. Then join the longest ‘Line Dance’ with Stephanie Grace, local country music star.

This year everyone is also encouraged to walk for their favorite 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Each registered walker will have their name placed in a drawing for one of 10 $100 donations to the non-profit of their choice! So bring your family and friends to walk as a team for unity and your favorite non-profit!

Pre-registration forms are available at the United Way of Boyertown Area Office at 39B East Philadelphia Ave. in Boyertown or at their booth at the Fall Festival prior to the Walk. The Walk will start at the entrance to the Boyertown Community Park on south Madison Street at 2 p.m. The walk is a short 1.5 mile stroll through parts of Boyertown past the ‘Diversity Mural’ at Rita’s Water Ice.

Thanks to Unity Walk sponsors Boyertown Junior High West Staff, National Penn Bank and Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation.

Everyone from the surrounding community is invited to come and join with your friends and neighbors to further demonstrate that the Boyertown area is a welcoming and accepting environment in which to live, learn and work.

To preregister your team or for any questions, please call the United Way of Boyertown Area at 610-367-8716.
