Henne and Browder crowned Hamburg Area High School Homecoming King and Queen

Hamburg varsity football earned their first, and possibly most important, win of the season so far on Friday, Sept. 26. The homecoming game was a success: the Hawks won against the Kutztown Cougars with a final score of 34-6. Junior Nick Kuhn ran the ball to score once and threw two touchdown passes to juniors Jared Lesher and Aaron Nelson. Freshman Ignasio Reynoso also scored one touchdown. Hamburg only allowed Kutztown a total of 94 total offensive yards. This is their sixth consecutive win against the Cougars.

During halftime, Robby Henne, Hamburg’s wide receiver, was crowned Homecoming King and Meredith Browder was crowned Homecoming Queen.

On Saturday, the Homecoming games against Kutztown continued. boys’ varsity soccer lost against Kutztown with a final score of 7-1; the only goal scored was by senior Dustin Rohrbach.

Field hockey won 2-1, and girls’ soccer won 6-2 with goals by senior Nia Primus, junior Lauren Bittner, freshmen Brea Lesher, Veronica Crespo, and two by sophomore Andrea Fink.
