St. Joseph Regional Health Network will offer free flu shots for the public on Tues., Oct. 28 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the main lobby of the Bern Township campus for those who are 18 years of age and over.
The vaccine will be available through injection only. No registration is required. The Bern campus is located at 2500 Bernville Road, Reading.
Four dates set for ‘drive up’ flu shots for First Responders
St. Joseph also is offering free drive up flu shots for Berks First Responders on Oct. 21, 23, 27 and 29 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
The shots will be set up near the helipad on the hospital’s Bern Township Campus and are available to any on-duty crew or person with identification showing they are a law enforcement, fire, EMS or public safety professional.
“It is important that the people who protect us be vaccinated both for their safety and that of the people they serve,” explained Chris Chamberlain, EMS Liaison and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for St. Joseph. “Emergency responders often have challenging schedules and when they do have time, they don’t have a lot of it so we have offered this program the last few years and have found that it has been very well received.”
