In celebration of Daniel’s 280th birthday, we invite you to the Daniel Boone Homestead for an afternoon of birthday festivities including a presentation by Henry Miller, colonial toys and games, and birthday cake. Guided Boone House tours will be offered on the hour from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 2. Don’t forget to check out some of the other buildings while you are here as well including the Blacksmith Shop, Homestead Barn, and Smokehouse.
Visitors are encouraged to meet at the Wayside Lodge at 2 p.m., where they will meet Henry Miller of past and present. The present Henry Miller is a volunteer at the Daniel Boone Homestead and also a member of SOAP, or Spirit of the Airways Players. Henry Miller of the past was an apprentice to Squire Boone, Daniel’s father, and lived with the Boone family for about eight years. Henry has many stories to share that his ancestors passed on about the close and lasting friendship between Daniel Boone and Henry Miller. Please join us as our present day Henry Miller retells the tales of Daniel and Henry’s early adventures.
Following the presentation, visitors are encouraged to share Daniel’s birthday cake and enjoy colonial toys and games. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate the famous frontiersman’s birthday at his childhood home!
