In recognition of Veterans Day Nov. 11, Miller-Keystone Blood Center is sponsoring a Social Media Photo Contest (#MKBCMyVeteran ) from Nov. 3-Nov. 13.

According to Sean Tinney, Director of Marketing, this campaign is designed to increase awareness and demonstrate appreciation for our Veterans and local heroes at home and overseas.

“There are currently more than 20 million Veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces,” said Tinney. “These heroes have helped shape our American history, and we are grateful to all those who have served, are serving, or will serve in the future.”

To participate in the Blood Center’s Social Media Campaign, individuals are asked to submit a photo of a Veteran family member, friend or historical figure that inspires them, and to tell us why. Self-portraits are also permitted. Photos can be submitted Nov. 3-Nov. 10, and should be submitted to the Blood Center at GIVEaPINT.org/Veterans-Day-Contest

On Nov. 11, our social media platforms – including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook – will be flooded with these photos and stories, in honor of those who have, and continue to serve our country. The individual who submits the winning photo, based on the accumulation of “likes”, “shares” and “re-tweets” by Nov. 13 will receive a Military-themed gift basket with movie tickets, memorabilia, snacks and more.

For every submission we receive, a Miller-Keystone Blood Center employee will also write a personalized “Thank You” note to one of our local Veterans overseas.
