With November comes to season of thankfulness and giving back. This Saturday, the Historic State Theatre of Boyertown is welcoming back Heaven’s Thunder for a concert to benefit the Salvation Army of Boyertown. This event recognizes the need to feed the community.

The mission of this ‘Feed the Need’ benefit concert and food drive is simple: “Feed the people both physically and spiritually.” Food and proceeds collected from the event will directly impact the Christmas dinners of those in need right here in the Boyertown Area.

Salvation Army Case Manager Gabriela Wade states the food drive held this Saturday will help provide more than one hundred families with Christmas dinners. In addition, toy donations will give up to two hundred children presents to open on Christmas morning.

“Events like Feed the Need help us help as many people as possible,” says Wade.

The event promises wholesome family fun with a faithful flair as Heaven’s Thunder plays tunes described as being from the classic/southern rock genre with a positive message. Kevin Rude, owner of the State Theatre, feels blessed to have Heaven’s Thunder playing the State again saying, “It is always great to support missions all over but Heaven’s Thunder is local, The Salvation Army of Boyertown is local and the State Theatre is local. We are blessed to be able to help take care of our own back yard.”

While the Feed the Need benefit concert and food drive will help provide Christmas Dinners to Boyertown families, the Salvation Army invites those with limited resources to join them for a Thanksgiving service and meal, held between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
