Police Reports: New Holland man arrested for terroristic threats, endangering others after pointing gun at neighbors

Local man arrested for terroristic threats, released on unsecured bail

NEW HOLLAND BORO, Nov. 5 -New Holland Police Officer Heisse arrested Philip Weaver of New Holland for Terroristic Threats and Recklessly Endangering Another Person on Nov. 3 at his E. Main Street residence. Weaver reportedly pointed a handgun at his downstairs neighbors and yelled obscenities at them during a disturbance. Weaver was sent to Lancaster County Central Booking for arraignment. On the morning of Nov. 5, MDJ William Benner released Weaver on unsecured bail.

Police investigate cause of one-car crash

EARL TWP, Nov. 4 – At 9:21 p.m. on Nov. 4, Officer Bitner of New Holland Police responded to the 500 Block of E. Farmersville Road for a vehicle crash. Codey Short, 20, of Lebanon was traveling northbound on the road when a vehicle traveling the opposite way entered his lane. Short was forced off the side of the road, where he struck a large rock. There was minimal damage to Short’s vehicle. The other vehicle continued traveling southbound and did not stop. An investigation is ongoing.

Pistol stolen from New Holland residence

NEW HOLLAND, Nov. 7 – At 12:06 p.m. on Nov. 7, New Holland Police responded to the residence of Christy Martin, 36, who reported her Taurus Pistol to be stolen. The unknown actor(s) broke into Martin’s residence sometime within the few days following the report. The pistol is silver and black in color and is valued at $350. It did not appear that entry was forced in the commission of the crime.

USPS collection box damagedEARL TWP, Nov. 8 – Officer Young of New Holland Police responded to the report of a damaged United State’s Post Office centralized collection box on Kinzer Avenue, outside the Garden Spot Center for Health building. The vandalism occurred over night, and, in the morning, the box was found on its side by a postal worker. There are no leads in the case at this time. Investigation continues.

Hit and run in Earl TownshipEARL TWP, Nov. 7 – At 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 7, Christopher Andrejcak, 31, of New Holland reported that he was driving west of Weaverland Road when another vehicle came around the curve at Tower Road, striking the side of his vehicle and continuing to drive toward Division Highway. Officer Young of New Holland Police responded. Andrejcak described the other vehicle at a tan-colored Nissan Maxima with a male driver in his late teens or early twenties. The Maxima should have black paint transfer on the driver side of the vehicle.

Collision at North Railroad Avenue and Division Highway

EARL TWP, Nov. 9 – At 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 9, New Holland Police Officer Young responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of North Railroad Avenue and Division Highway. Driver Esther Diem, 83, of Narvon was traveling east on Division Highway. Driver Anthony Martin, 25, of Stevens was on Railroad Avenue making a left turn onto Division Highway. When the light turned green for Martin, he proceeded to turn and was struck by Diem’s vehicle. Diem was transported to the hospital for observation, and her vehicle was towed.

Tractor-trailer crashEARL TWP, Nov. 11 – At 5:44 p.m. on Nov. 11, New Holland Police responded to West Main Street for the report of a crash involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Branko Verisavljevic, 54, of Georgia impacted the rear portion of a van operated by driver William Shuman, 55, of Gordonville. Verisavljevic was issued a citation for following too closely. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.

Two-car crash at New Holland intersection

NEW HOLLAND BORO, Nov. 12 – At 11:25 a.m. on Nov. 12, a two-car crash occurred at the intersection of South Kinzer Avenue and East Jackson Street. New Holland Police Officer Young responded. Driver Cheyenne Dragon, 19, of Blue Ball was traveling east of East Jackson Street and stopped at the intersection before pulling out onto South Kinzer Avenue. Dragon failed to see driver A. Voila Eby, 84, of New Holland approaching. Dragon’s vehicle was struck by Eby’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Crash on Tower RoadNEW HOLLAND BORO, Nov. 12 – At 12:14 p.m. on Nov. 12, New Holland Police responded to a vehicle accident that occurred on South Tower Road in the parking lot of Yoder’s Restaurant. While walking across the parking lot, 79-year-old Jacqueline Weinhold was struck by a slow-moving vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was Noah Wenger, 64, of Ephrata. Weinhold sustained a cut to her ankle and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver was uninjured, and the vehicle sustained no damage.
