Stolen vehicle found in parking lot
RUSCOMBMANOR TWP, Nov. 21 – Reading State Police are investigating a stolen vehicle left in a parking lot on Pricetown Road. The 21-year-old male victim reported the vehicle as stolen on Nov. 21 at 12:24 p.m. to Reading City Police. They are assisting with the investigation. 16-year-old female runs away from Bethany Children’s Home
HEIDELBERG TWP, Nov. 21 – Reading State Police are looking for a 16-year-old female who ran away from Bethany Children’s Home on Nov. 21 at 9 p.m. She is possibly headed towards the Reading City area. Anyone with information concerning her whereabouts is asked to contact PSP Reading Trooper Hipp at 610-378-4011.
Drug possession arrests on West Franklin Street
TOPTON, Nov. 21 – At 10 p.m. on Nov. 21, Reading State Police responded to the West Franklin Street apartment of Logan Fenstermacher, 21, relative to a separate ongoing investigation. Upon entry, troopers made contact with Fenstermacher and 24-year-old Stephen Semler of Mertztown. The troopers observed a switchblade knife and drug paraphernalia, and they secured the residence in anticipation of a search warrant. Once the warrant was approved, a search ensued, and troopers discovered methamphetamine, heroin and heroin paraphernalia including spoons, syringes, heroin bags and wax papers. Specific amounts of each drug are pending lab analysis. Both men were subsequently arrested.
Forced entry burglary on Pine Lane
RUSCOMBMANOR TWP, Nov. 17 – State Police at Reading responded to a report of a forced entry burglary that occurred at a Pine Lane residence on Nov. 17 between 6:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. In the commission of the crime, the actor(s) removed jewelry from the residence. Investigation is ongoing.
Driver, passenger injured in one-car crash
MAXATAWNY TWP, Nov. 23 – A driver and passenger were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Nov. 23 at 6:20 p.m. State Police at Reading responded. Driver John Kratzer, 71, of Emmaus and passenger Dolores Fenstermaker, 72, of Macungie were traveling on Fleetwood Road when Kratzer drove off the right side of the roadway at the intersection of Bowers Road and struck a guardrail. After striking the guardrail, Kratzer continued traveling off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Both Kratzer and Fenstermaker were injured and required EMS transport to St. Luke’s Hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
One-car crash on Walker Road results in DUI charge
LONGSWAMP TWP, Nov. 25 – State Police at Reading responded to a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Nov. 25 at 1:50 p.m. Driver Elisha Wells, 55, of Topton was traveling north on Walker Road and attempted to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. Wells undercompensated and traveled off the roadway, crashing into a rock embankment. The driver related he was uninjured and refused EMS treatment. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and will receive DUI charges. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed.
DUI crash at Christmas Village Road intersection
JEFFERSON TWP, Nov. 24 – State Police Trooper Benjamin Toth responded to the intersection of Christmas Village Road and Stone Road for the report of a crash on Nov. 24 at 6:54 p.m. The 59-year-old male suspect flipped his vehicle onto its roof and then fled the scene on foot. Upon further investigation, the suspect was tracked down and arrested for DUI.
Retail theft at Kutztown Top Star
KUTZTOWN, Nov. 23 – At 9:04 p.m. on Nov. 23, State Police responded to the report of a retail theft at the Kutztown Top Star location. The accused, Linsey Fenstermacher, 36, of Mertztown concealed a package of Reese’s Peanut Butter Trees candy in her clothing and then fled the scene.
