The annual Cookie Bonanza at Friedens Lutheran Church in Bernville, happening from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec.13, will include traditional cookies such as rolled sand tarts, hickory nut cookies, spritz cookies, chocolate chip, soft sugar cut outs, and Russian tea cakes as well as other taste-bud pleasing cookies. However, a new treat has been added. Women of the church made peanut butter and kiss trees to prepare for the event. A special event at the Cookie Bonanza will be the attendance or former Bernville physician, Dr. Peter Pugliese, for a signing of his memoir, “The Cookie Doctor.” Dr. Pugliese will be in attendance from 9 to 11 a.m.
