Conestoga Christian School hosted its 17th annual Cougar Classic basketball tournament on December 5-6. The Cougars hosted Berks Christian, Salem Christian, and the Christian School of York. For the second straight year the Cougars won their Tip-Off Classic.

Conestoga opened against Berks Christian on Friday night and won 58-29. The Cougars were victorious with the help of Tyler Greenly, who scored 26 points. The Cougars scored early, claiming a 17-12 lead at the half. The Cougars solidified their lead with a late-game surge, scoring a game-high 21 points in the final quarter on the strength of a 14-3 run. Greenly had a great game from the field, making 45% (9-for-20) of shots attempted as well as 33% (3-for-9) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 83% (5-for-6) of free throws attempted. Also helping the effort for the Cougars were Jedd Miller (9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal), Jesse Zook (6 points), Cyle Fulton (7 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals), Tyler March (4 points), Peter Lambert (4 points) and Daniel Boyer (2 points).

In the Championship game on Saturday the Cougars emerged victorious 58-47 against the Christian School Of York on the strength of Jedd Miller, who scored 19 points, pulled down 9 boards, and had 1 steal. Tyler Greenly ended up with 11 points and 3 assists. Also helping the effort for the Cougars were Jeremy Latshaw (8 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound), Cyle Fulton (6 points, 5 rebounds), Simon Wei (5 points) and Daniel Boyer (3 points). Tyler March was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up five rebounds and one steal.

Tyler Greenly and Jeremy Latshaw were named to the Classics “All Tournament Team”.
