Local Scout Troops remembered those who lost their lives in the Pearl Harbor attacks and honored veterans with a flag raising ceremony Sunday, Dec. 7.

Scouts from Troop 555 and Cub Scouts from Pack 595 held the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony at Main Bird Park, Birdsboro; this was the second year they hosted the event.

The ceremony kicked off with Jeff Edwards playing the National Anthem on the bagpipes. The scouts took each read a portion from the series of events that occurred on that fateful day and thanked the veterans in attendance for their dedicated service to our country.

Edwards played “Amazing Grace” prior to the flag raising. Members from the American Legion Post 626, Birdsboro, were present.

Taran Rickard, from Boy Scout Troop 555, shared a brief explanation of his Eagle Scout project which rehabbed Main Bird Park and Vest Pocket Park in Birdsboro.
