More than 100 grangers, family members, and friends celebrated the holiday season during Virginville Grange’s bi-monthly meeting Dec. 17.

A covered dish meal was followed by a program presented by Virginville Junior grangers, with help from the subordinate members, including the “Christmas ABCs” and the “Twelve Days of Christmas Cookies”. After a visit from Santa Claus, all enjoyed a peanut scramble led by Santa Claus.

Grange members who belong to the organization for 50 years or more were honored as special guests of the evening.

Monetary donations were presented to Kira Kolbe and Cheyenne Stoudt.

Kira’s benefit was Virginville Grange Community Service committee’s benefit bingo held Sunday, Nov. 2. Her family lives in Shoemakersville and was presented $2,911 ($982 contributed by Thrivent Financial) to help with ongoing medical expenses as a result of a severe automobile accident.

Cheyanne Stoudt, an 11-year-old Mohrsville girl, was presented $1,200 to help her family purchase a handicapped van. Her benefit was a hoedown/dance held at Virginville Grange on Nov. 29. She was born with a rare metabolic disorder, NonKetotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH).
