The public is invited to the 3rd Annual Sportsmen’s Banquet at Salem EC Church, Lenhartsville, on Saturday, March 7. The evening will feature outdoorsman and television host Corey Brossman, who will speak at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m for the event, which will include a wide range of vendors and activities, great door prizes and a buffet-style meal served at 6 p.m.

Brossman grew up in Reading, and is the star of the outdoor-adventure show, Innerlock’s “Out There.” He learned the sport of hunting from his father and began filming his outdoor adventures from a young age. Known as the “Bow-fishing Guru,” Brossman loves to share his excitement for hunting and fishing with everyone he meets. His presentation at Salem’s banquet promises to be entertaining for young and old alike.

Banquet guests may browse tables in the church’s gymnasium featuring artisans and businesses. Representatives from the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Berks Fly Tyers will be on hand, along with taxidermists, spent-round jewelers and candle vendors. Crazy Jay’s sauces and Pure Wild Tea have tables reserved. Game calls will be available for sale, as will be bow attachments for disabled hunters.

A Wild Game Cook-Off is back by popular demand. Youngsters can try an indoor archery range and other activities. The vendor section will also highlight Salem’s Outdoors Group, which sponsors the banquet, and the church’s new archery program, Centershot.

Of course, delicious food is on the menu. Diners will enjoy hot roast beef and baked ham, filling, macaroni and cheese, green beans, tossed salad and rolls. Fruit cups will be served, and an ample buffet of homemade desserts will satisfy any sweet tooth. Tickets should be bought in advance. Children 3 and under can eat free.

To reserve tickets to the 3rd Annual Sportsmen’s Banquet, please contact the church office (610-562-5033). Advance sales are suggested, with only a limited number available at the door.
