There is much going on at Village Library, as evidenced by the full parking lot on a recent Wednesday afternoon.

“Winter is a great season for curling up with a good book or enjoying a good movie with friends and family,” said Natasha Donaldson, new library director. “The Village Library of Morgantown offers access to a wide collection of free materials, including books, audiobooks, DVD’s and TV series for all ages. Patrons have access to computers with the use of their library card.”

While snow might keep you indoors there is still access to the library.

“Snow day? Online resources are also available 24/7, including e-magazines, e-books, digital audiobooks, and even free streaming videos,” said Donaldson.

The library features monthly displays. For March, displays feature both Women’s History Month and Gardening.

Besides books and movies, there is much to do at the library.

“We also seek to serve the community by offering both regular monthly programs, and special featured programs. This month, The Village Library is offering a special two-part program “Essential Oils and Their Uses” on Tuesday, March 17 and 24. Some of our regular programs include a card club, a knitting club, two yoga classes, a fitness class, and Spanish as a Second Language,” she said.

Weekly and monthly children’s programs are Lapsits on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. for birth to 2 years, Story Adventures Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m., Pajama Storytime the 3rd Monday of the month, Lego Club on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, and Family Movie the last Friday of month.

“I am looking at the possibility of starting some basic computer classes and possibly an Intro to Spanish class in the future,” said Donaldson. “At the Village Library, our greatest goal is to serve in such a way that our patrons leave viewing their library visit as a highlight of their day. Come in this winter and find what the Village Library has to offer you!”
