A Drug Organization has been dismantled in Berks County.

Nilson Carmona-Villar, 39; Alberto Manual Arias, 22; Jesus Brito-Laboy, 25; Reinaldo Rosario-Arregui, 31, all of Reading, have been charged with Possession; Possession With Intent to Deliver; Delivery of Heroin and Cocaine; and Criminal Conspiracy (to all).

In November 2014, District Attorney John T. Adams’ Drug Task Force Detectives began an investigation into a major drug operation in the City of Reading, Berks County. Information revealed the aforementioned individuals were distributing cocaine and heroin throughout Berks County. The organization was generating approximately $25,000 in proceeds from drug sales every 2-3 days. These bulk amounts of cocaine and heroin were being transported from New York and Philadelphia. As a result, the Berks County Narcotics Detectives joined forces with the DEA, Pennsylvania State Police, Attorney General’s Office and Drug Task Force members from Bernville, Central Berks, Exeter Township, Fleetwood, Kutztown, Reading, Robeson Twp., Spring Township, and Womelsdorf Police Departments.

Throughout the course of the investigation, undercover detectives made numerous drug buys from the members of the organization.

On March 12, 2015, detectives obtained seven (7) sealed search warrants for various locations in the City of Reading. The search warrants were signed by a Berks County Court of Common Pleas Judge.

On March 13, 2015, at 11:45 am, members of the above-listed agencies served all seven search warrants. The following items were seized: bulk amounts of cocaine and heroin, 4 guns, a stock of ammunition, drug-related paraphernalia associated with the distribution of controlled substances, and a substantial amount of U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from previous heroin and cocaine sales.

Carmona-Villar, Arias, Brito-Laboy, and Rosario-Arregui were arrested and transported to the Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing Unit for processing and preliminary arraignment.
