MUHLENBERG – A SWAT incident in Berks County lasted from Saturday night to early Sunday morning in the Temple section of the township.
SWAT units from the Berks Emergency Response Team with a negotiator moved in toward a three-story building several blocks behind the Temple Fire Co. The building on Mt Laurel Ave. was bordered by Commerce St. and Beaumont Ave.
A searchlight from a SWAT truck appeared to be pointed toward the third floor of the building as police were trying to make contact with someone inside.
Authorities would give no information about the incident. The BERT is composed of police officers from several tri-county area police departments in addition to Berks.
