Police arrest suspect for January robbery of VIST Bank, Ruscombmanor Township

On March 23, 2015, the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L Reading Station, arrested Jason Lee Serrano.

On Jan. 30, 2015 PSP Reading members responded to a bank robbery at the Thompkins VIST Bank located at 3401 Pricetown Rd., Ruscombmanor Twp. A male entered the front of the bank dressed in a camouflage colored trench coat with a hoodie over his head/face. Once inside, he demanded money and implied that he had a weapon. The male was reportedly given an undetermined amount of money and then fled behind the bank.

Members of the Reading Criminal Investigations Unit began an investigation into the matter. During the investigation it was discovered that Serrano fled to Florida after the bank robbery. He turned himself into authorities in Florida and was extradited back to Berks County.

Serrano was interviewed and confessed to the bank robbery.

Serrano was charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, and simple assault. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Court 23-3-3. Serrano is currently at the Berks County Jail and will be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Victor Frederick IV.
