Firefighters responded to a fully-involved fire in a large shed at 119 Furnace St. in Birdsboro Wednesday afternoon, March 25.

The fire spread to two adjoining structures, a house and an office in the front of the building before it was extinguished, according to Birdsboro Fire Marshall Ken Templin.

The cause of the fire was unknown at the time of the incident.

One of the homes suffered damage from the fire and heat to a wall and roof area. The other building had melted siding.

Two aerials were used during the fire to reach upper floors in the buildings.

Assisting Birdsboro-Union Fire Department were Monarch Fire Company from Amity, Gibraltar Fire Company and the Mt. Penn Fire Company.
