An unknown male robbed Dollar General in Hamburg on Monday, March 30.

Hamburg Borough Police report that an armed robbery occurred at the Dollar General store in Hamburg on Monday, March 30 at approximately 8:55 p.m.

An unknown male, approximately 6’2″ and 250 lbs. entered the store located at 700 South 4th Street wearing a light colored face mask, blue hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, black sneakers and gloves. The unknown male approached a store employee, who was at the front of the store cleaning, and demanded that the employee give him money from the cash register. The employee informed the unknown man that the register could not be opened unless a purchase was made.

The unknown male pulled a handgun from his sweatshirt and threatened the employee with the handgun, demanding the money again. He swiped an item under the scanner and the employee opened the cash drawer. Then he pushed the employee aside and took the cash from the register.

The unknown male then fled the scene on foot traveling towards Fourth Street. Neighboring businesses were immediately contacted according to police.
