Fleetwood Area Public Library commemorates its 25th anniversary with a birthday party for the community. The GWFC Woman’s Club of Fleetwood voted to start a library in 1989. Incorporated as the Fleetwood Area Public Library in 1990, it became eligible for state and county funding. The library still serves the residents of Fleetwood Borough, Maidencreek Township, and Richmond Township today.

Fleetwood School District donated a classroom in the new middle school to house the public library, but it was limited to evening hours. The library officially opened its door on January 15, 1990 with 500 donated books. Today, the library boasts a collection approaching 30,000 items! We are located in the old middle school building which is now referred to as the Fleetwood Community Center at 110 West Arch Street.

The library invites our community to join us for a birthday celebration on Friday, April 17, from 5-7PM in the Fleetwood Community Center’s Gymnasium. We’ll have a bounce house, games, pizza, cupcakes and more. Please register for this free event by calling 610-944-0146. Many thanks to our generous sponsors: Clover Farms Dairy, Firefly Bookstore, Massimo’s, Redner’s Markets, Tumble ‘N Bounce, and the Friends of the Fleetwood Area Public Library.
