The spring snow may have provided a slight snag in scheduling, but it did not put a damper on donations to Governor Mifflin’s seventh annual Mini-THON. The event, which had to be moved from March 20 to March 21 due to weather, surpassed its $25,000 goal raising $40,188.47 to date for the Four Diamonds Fund. The Princess and Pirate Luncheon over the weekend pushed the fund raising total over the $40,000 mark. The amount marks a record for the High School Student Government Association, which will continue to collect donations until June 1, 2015.

In addition to the 12-hour dance marathon held over the weekend, several events contributed to the record total, including collecting donations at football games, an annual powder puff football game, and selling paper diamonds. Governor Mifflin’s elementary schools and Middle School helped by holding spirit days and collecting donations for the cause.

This year, a Mifflin/Wilson faculty basketball game and the Princess and Pirate Luncheon were also added to the efforts.
