Last month, the ringing of the bells signified the beginning of the Bicentennial Celebration of the Borough of Kutztown. In 1965, the Sesqui-Centennial committee crowned Karen Kaiser to be Miss Sesqui-Centennial.

The Miss Kutztown Bicentennial Pageant Committee is busy preparing for the pageant program to be held this summer. On June 20, 2015, the Bicentennial Committee will be crowning a new Miss Kutztown Bicentennial and a Little Miss Kutztown Bicentennial.

The program will be held at Kutztown Area High School. Contestants must live in the Kutztown Area School District and be between the ages of 16 and 23. The contestants will be judged on a Personal Interview, Talent, Casual Wear, Eveningwear, and an on-Stage question. The judges will be looking for a representative who loves living in Kutztown and would be proud to represent the town during our celebration. In addition to Miss Kutztown Bicentennial, we will also crown a Little Miss Kutztown Bicentennial. She must be between 5 and 8 years of age and live in the Kutztown School District. A portion of the voting will take place on-line prior to the program.

The Bicentennial Pageant Committee is looking for individuals who are interested in participating in the program. Registration information is available on the Kutztown Bicentennial Committee website www.bokutility.com. Deadline for entries is May 1.
