The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 5 announced today PA 10 and PA 724 in Berks County will be resurfaced beginning April 27.

The pavement improvement project is financed with funds from Pennsylvania’s transportation plan, Act 89. Work includes base repairs, milling, paving and new pavement markings on PA 10 between PA 724 and Interstate 176 in Cumru Township; PA 10 between PA 23 and Interstate 76/PA Turnpike in Caernarvon Township and New Morgan Borough; and PA 724 between Interstate 176 and PA 10 in Cumru Township.

Beginning April 27 motorists can expect weeknight lane closures on these roads from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through early June.

Reading Materials, Inc. of Skippack, PA is the general contractor on the $1,225,792 contract.

Motorists are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones, not only for their safety, but for the safety of the road crews.
