Zion Moselem Lutheran Church of 340 Moselem Church Rd. near Virginville, which was established from a William Penn family land grant and is home to the oldest existing and recently restored 1770 Tannenburg Organ, held it’s Rogation Sunday service recently.
This service thanks our Lord for all the good gifts sent from heaven and asks for God’s blessings on the seeds, the earth, the water, and the labor to grow our food. One of our youngest members, Logan Leeper, drove his tractor up the center aisle of the church, carrying the offerings of seeds, soil, and water in his trailer. Our Diaconal Minister Linda Zawaski and Logan then laid hands on each of these elements as each was then blessed.
Following the indoor service, the congregation went outside for a blessing of the tractors which had been driven to church for the morning service. Each was blessed for a safe and bountiful planting and harvest. The tractors are owned by Diana and Harold Dietrich, Anna Kunkleman, Jean and Leo Beck, Sue and Keith Treichler, Brittni Treichler, Laura and Brett Treichler and of course, Logan Leeper.
