The Boyertown Area Choral Association will celebrate the start of its 25th Anniversary season with a free spring concert on Sunday, May 3, at 3 p.m. The concert will be held at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, located at 35 W. Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown.

As always, the chorus will present a variety of musical selections to appeal to a wide audience, from well-known songs like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” to toe-tappin’ favorites like “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing” and the Broadway hit “Ease on Down the Road.” The ladies of the chorus will be featured in the beautiful Celtic Woman ballad “The Blessing.”

BACA Founder and President Koreen Mace will sing a special number in memory of Margaretta “Peg” Lamb, who passed away in January. A beloved Boyertown music teacher, Mrs. Lamb led the community chorus for 20 years.

There will also be a special guest performance by American Soprano Gwynne Geyer at the May 3rd concert. A 1974 Boyertown graduate, Miss Geyer has sung leading roles on the great opera stages of the world.

The Boyertown chorus is directed by Donna M. House and Donna Jean Marshall. The spring concert is free and open to the public. A cookie reception will follow the performance.
