A big event is brewing in Hamburg and will be held this Saturday, May 2 at the Hamburg Field House. “Art of the Brew” Hamburg’s craft beer tasting festival will highlight favorites from 30 breweries with most offering tastings from at least two kinds of beer. The festival runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature two local bands; The Barren Wells and Uncle Jake and the 18 Wheel Gang.

“Last year’s inaugural event was a success for us with more than 300 people in attendance. This year we have doubled the number of breweries participating, so we hope to double the amount of attendees,” said Deena Kershner, Director of Our Town Foundation, the organization hosting the event. “We are very fortunate to have Windsor Distributing, our local beer distributor, on board and assisting us with booking the breweries. “

Ticket prices for Art of the Brew are available for a cheaper cost if purchased before 2 p.m. Friday, a little bit more of a cost the day of, and a special cost for designated drivers. All ticket prices include a meal and the tasting tickets include a logoed glass. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door.

Contact the Foundation office at 610-562-3106 for tickets or purchase advance tickets online at www.hamburgpa.org and click on events. A listing of the participating breweries can also be found on the web.

All proceeds from the “Art of the Brew Fest” will benefit Hamburg’s Southgate Neighborhood through a program managed by Our Town Foundation. The Foundation was organized in 2002 to preserve and revitalize downtown Hamburg for families and future generations to enjoy.
