The Boyertown Museum of Historic honored its dedicated corps of volunteers on Thursday, April 23, with an Appreciation Dinner in the Museum gallery.

About 100 volunteers and their guests attended the event, which was catered by CD’s Place. As a show of their gratitude, staff acted as servers for these amazing men and women who give of their own time to help the Boyertown Museum. Seated by the picturesque Reading Diner and 1921 Sunoco Station, volunteers enjoyed photos, raffle prizes, and remarks from staff and fellow volunteers.

Awards were presented to several outstanding volunteers: Matt Loizeaux, Volunteer of the Year; U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Maine Division, Volunteer Group of the Year; Ernie Derkas, Most Volunteer Hours Contributed; and Medal of Honor Recipients for Outstanding Service were Bob Dare, Pete DeMauriac, Jay Fink, Frank Kemp, Ted Maurer, Dan Olsen, Fred Serfass, and Don Wilton.

The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles thanks all the volunteers that graciously help the Museum and make it the successful and dynamic place that it is. The museum is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2015 and has a whole range of special events planned throughout the year. For more information call 610-367-2090 or visit www.boyertownmuseum.org.
