Garden Spot Village has named Gordon Denlinger to its board of directors.

“We are very excited to have Gordon Denlinger join our board of directors,” said Steve Lindsey, chief executive officer. “Gordon brings a unique set of skills to the board, including a strong financial background, experience in high-level policy discussions as a member of state government, and a personal alignment with the mission and values of Garden Spot Village. We look forward to having him at the table as we seek to enrich the lives of older adults well into the future.”

Denlinger served six terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 99th District from 2003 until 2014. A certified public accountant, he also has served as elder and chairman of the finance committee at Zeltenreich Reformed Church. In addition, Denlinger has long-time personal ties with Garden Spot Village. His parents moved to the campus in 1998, and his mother and mother-in-law both still live there. One of his sons works at Garden Spot Village during breaks from his collegiate studies.

“It is a tremendous honor to be invited to join the board of Garden Spot Village,” said Denlinger. “My hope and prayer is to be helpful in building and strengthening the GSV community-a community I’ve come to know and love from its founding.”

He also values the fact that Garden Spot Village is a faith-based community.

“Preserving and building upon that vision of the founders is a goal I view as personally important,” Denlinger said.

Denlinger lives in Churchtown with his wife, Carolyn. The couple has four children. Born in Ephrata, Denlinger graduated from High Point Baptist Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bob Jones University. He has been active with the Republican Committee of Lancaster County since 1992.

Garden Spot Village is located at 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. For more information call 717-355-6000 or visit gardenspotvillage.org.
