Fleetwood Area Public Library and Fleetwood Rotary Club are once again co-sponsoring a Men’s Clothing Drive to benefit City Thrift Shop in Reading.
City Thrift Shop continues to experience a great need for men’s clothing items. In 2014, the joint effort resulted in 1,300 items donated to City Thrift Shop, along with a $1,000 donation given to the Friends of the Fleetwood Area Public Library from the Fleetwood Rotary Club.
This year, Fleetwood Area Public Library Director Stephanie Williams would like to collect 1,500 items. For those interested in donating items, please bring items in boxes or bags to the Fleetwood Area Public Library’s collection bin in the second floor hallway of the Fleetwood Community Center, located at 110 West Arch Street in Fleetwood. The last day to donate items at the library is Thursday, June 11. Donations may also be dropped off at Fleetwood Rotary Club’s Show of Wheels in Fleetwood Park on Saturday, June 13, from 7 to 10 a.m. Visit the car show and enjoy free entertainment while supporting organizations in your community.
City Thrift Shop can especially use donations of new packs of men’s socks and new packs of men’s underwear. City Thrift Shop also greatly appreciates the following men’s clothing items: shirts, pants, jeans, belts, jackets, suits, dress ties and dress shirts. We are asking you to clean out your closet to fill the closet of fellow men in need. For more information please contact Stephanie at the library at 610-944-0146.
