Throughout the school year a group of project workers at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Church St., Hamburg are busy making quilts. These quilts were blessed during worship on Sunday, May 10 at 10:15 a.m. To date 102 quilts have been made by the Project Workers at St. John’s.
The project workers will continue making quilts which will be delivered to New Windsor, Maryland, as part of Lutheran World Relief. The quilts will then be distributed to people around the world. Although they are use to provide a clean warm bed covering these quilts can also be used as a sack to carry items, a sunshade, a baby carrier, a room divider, and used to display items at market. Loving hands make these quilts which spread comfort to others around the world.
