Oley >> National Penn bank tellers and several customers at the Main Street branch in Oley were held at gunpoint Wednesday as a man robbed the bank.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the report of the robbery at 420 Main St.. at about 10:50 a.m.

According to police, the man entered the bank brandishing a handgun and demanded money from all of the tellers.

The employees and several customers were held at gunpoint until the man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. None were harmed.

Witnesses told police that the perpetrator entered a dark blue Chevrolet Cruze with a white temporary registration sticker on the rear window one block from the bank.

The man was described as being a white male in his late 30s to mid-40s, who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a surgical mask, black sunglasses, a black long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, according to police. He was carrying a black backpack with orange flames.
