On June 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Brandywine Heights Area School District Middle School, there will be a panel discussion to discuss the topic of drug abuse. There will be panelists representing counseling and support services, medical personnel and law enforcement.

We are going to start the night out with some opening remarks by myself and lead into our three short educational pieces. 1.

Jessica Kase from Caron Foundation will talk about when someone needs help and how to start that process.

Detective Pasquale Leporace of the Berks County narcotics will speak on the Good Samaritan Law and what happens after someone is arrested.

Tyler Bard, Chief of EMS, will talk about signs of overdose and what to do as well as the importance of the medication narcan/naloxone.

Panelists include Matt Null (COCA) will discuss prevention and when and how to talk to your kids. Other panelists include Det. Leporace, Tyler Bard, Tamra McGee from Pyramid, Jessica Kase from Caron, and Rev. Jeremiah Sassaman.
