As the story goes, chaos and comedy ensue when a blundering young narrator, played by Sienna Cowley, discovers Prince Charming (Andrew Bausher) has been captured by the evil witch, Hagragard, played by Jenna Ritter. The narrator struggles to save her family honor while her well-meaning Fairy Godmother (Maya Evans) mistakenly sends not one, but SIX fairy princesses and Goldilocks to the rescue. Will a needy dragon (Aidan Schlegel), a score of evil minions, and big princess personalities keep this unlikely team from becoming heroes?

Fleetwood Community Theatre is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization of theatre lovers currently in their 28th season. FCT is committed to the education and development of their membership within the theatre arts program by offering opportunities to all ages both on-stage and behind the scenes. As an outlet of quality musical, dramatic and ensemble productions, it encourages and supports local youth to pursue performing arts opportunities through school, church, collegiate or other local productions.

In 2014, several parents approached the Board of Directors asking Fleetwood Community Theatre to do more productions that involve children. So FCT agreed to a committee to organize and run several workshops, a talent contest, and 2 productions for the 2015 season. Chasing Charming is the first production. It is a building block opportunity for many – parents and children alike – and one that FCT hopes to grow over the next several seasons.

Chasing Charming opens June 12 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 201 E Main Street, Kutztown. There are three performances, Friday June 12 and Saturday June 13 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance on Sunday June 14 at 2 p.m. Seating is limited. Purchase tickets by calling 484-637-7067.
