BOYERTOWN >> Fun Days kicked off the summer season at Boyertown Community Park Thursday and continues through Saturday, 30. Many popular events are back including the Rosaire family of Florida, who brought their lovable racing pigs. The races run approximately every two hours from the start of each day. There will be a variety of great food throughout the event.

On Friday, the hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Wristbands are $18 per person and you can ride until 10 p.m. Ditsy the Clown will be entertaining the younger visitors with music, balloon sculpting, face painting and glitter tattoos.

On Saturday, activities begin at noon. The bi-hourly pig races start at noon as well as local exhibits and demonstrations and continue throughout the day. A “ride special” will be again offered from 1 to 5 p.m. The $18 wristband offer will begin at 1 and will be good until 5 p.m.

The Boyertown Alumni Marching Unit Concert will be held in the Spaatz Bandshell at 7 p.m. The night will have special meaning this year as the General Carl A Spaatz Foundation will rededicate the bandshell in the park with a towering, impressive new marker. The “General Carl A Spaatz March” will be played along with a collection of World War II numbers.

The ever popular tradition of fireworks at approximatley 9:45 will once again, unofficially end this year’s Fun Days event. The rain date for Saturday events only is Sunday, May 31.

Fun Days is a fundraiser for the Community Park and is run by the Boyertown Park & Recreation Board.
