Daniel Boone’s Odyssey of the Mind Team wins world championship

The Daniel Boone Odyssey of the Mind Middle School team comprised of Taylor Eisenhuth, David Eurillo, Emma Hartman, Zoe Thompson and Rachel Woomer and coached by parents Fran Thompson and Steph Woomer won 1st place at the World Finals held at Michigan State University May 20 to May 23.

There they competed against 63 teams from 8 countries to win the world championship for their division and problem, “Pandora’s Box.” In this classics problem, teams put a video game spin on the story of Pandora’s Box.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.

The team advanced to the World Odyssey of the Mind while competing at the PA Odyssey of the Mind competition in Berwick, Pa., on Saturday, April 11.
