Teens from Garden Spot High School helped a group of residents at Garden Spot Village celebrate their 90th – or better – birthdays.
The nine students, all members of the National Honor Society, served cake, ice cream and coffee and mingled with the approximately 50 residents who turned out for the 90-Plus Birthday Club party on Wednesday, May 27. The annual Celebration of Age event honors all those who have turned 90 or above in the past year. That group includes more than 85 people who are living independently in apartments and cottages on the community’s campus.
In addition, the Lighter Side Players, the drama club at Garden Spot Village, entertained the celebrants with a skit and a song.
