Pottstown Health & Wellness Foundation awards more than $1.5 million in grant funds

The Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation has awarded $1,547,345 in grant requests during the spring grant round of fiscal year 2014-2015 to 40 non-profit organizations, schools, and municipalities.

According to Dave Kraybill, president, “These programs play a major role in supporting the Foundation’s mission of promoting healthy lifestyles within the community.”

Grant requests are submitted based on the following priority areas:

1: HEALTHY BEHAVIORS1A: Promoting healthy living through nutrition, activities and programs in public and private schools to reduce obesity and encourage healthy living

1B: Improving parks, programming and the built environment to increase access to physical activity

1C: Creating and promoting social networks involving healthy living

2: PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH
