“Summer of Ska” Pints for Pups event series benefit pets and pet owners in need

Humane Pennsylvania will present “Summer of Ska” in a series of three Pints for Pups events spanning Lancaster, Berks, and Montgomery counties this summer.

Pints for Pups, which had its beginnings ten years ago as a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Berks County, is a beer tasting and festival where attendees are encouraged to bring their leashed and well-behaved dogs. Growing in size and popularity in the Reading community each year, Pints for Pups was brought to Lancaster last year to benefit the Humane League of Lancaster County. This will be the first year Pints for Pups will take place in Pottstown.

As part of this year’s “Summer of Ska” theme, Humane Pennsylvania will host three ska bands, one of which will play live at each event. Pints for Pups Lancaster will feature The Pietasters, Pints for Pups Reading will feature The Hempsteadys, and Pints for Pups Pottstown will feature The Snails.

In addition to dozens of beers to sample, Pints for Pups also features a picnic-style buffet, and a commemorative pint glass featuring art by artist and published author, Adrienne Trafford.

“Pints for Pups is a very fun and highly-effective event supported by a large crowd of committed animal lovers who also love great beer,” said Karel Minor, Humane Pennsylvania President and CEO, “Simply by buying a ticket and sampling beer, you can make a huge difference for a pet in need. All funds raised will be targeted to veterinary services and animal assistance programs in each community.”
