Michelle Przemieniecki of Pottstown and her daughter Emily are hosting The Boob Ride, a fund raising event to benefit Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer, starting 7:30 a.m. July 11 at St. Peters Village in Chester County.

The rider awards support boobs in more than one way.

Made out of colorfully decorated bras, the Boob Awards will be awarded to Most Supportive, Best Dressed, Most Aggressive, Oldest Rider, Youngest, King of the Mountain, The “A” Cup, Best Overall and others.

“The awards are meant to be fun,” said Przemieniecki. “The Boob Ride is noncompetitive and the awards are to help people smile and enjoy the ride. The tongue-in-cheek awards were created by the group in California and have become a favorite part of the event.”

She notes that The Boob Ride was started in California. For more information visit www.theboobride.org.

According to the event release, Przemieniecki, the organizer of “The Boob Ride”, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Stage 3b breast cancer in September 2014. She was first diagnosed in 2008 with a completely different type of breast cancer. After months of treatments, she is happy to report that she is cancer free!

“Cancer sucks! When you have it, you feel like your life is going to end,” she said. “Humor heals.”

Quoting Kevin Hart, “Laughter heals all wounds, and that’s one thing that everybody shares. No matter what you’re going through, it makes you forget about your problems. I think the world should keep laughing.”

“It was and still is very important for me to smile and laugh,” said Przemieniecki. “You must find humor in order to keep up your spirits as you battle breast cancer. Every day that I wake up, I am reminded of the terrible fight – I have the scars to remind me.”

Przemieniecki lists the 10 awards:

The Most Supportive will go to the team that has the most riders.

The Best Dressed will be the person that wears the most pink or has fun with their bike outfit.

The Most Aggressive will be the person who really kicks butt on the course.

The Oldest Rider so far is a 71 year old woman who is registered for the “DD – 50 Mile Ride”.

The Youngest.King of the Mountain is the person who finishes the highest climb first.

The “A” Cup is the best rider in the 10 mile division.

The “C” Cup is the best rider in the 30 mile division.

The “DD Cup is the best rider in the 50 mile division.

The Best Overall is subjective to the organizers.

“As you know, breast cancer is a very serious and sad disease. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide and the second-most common cancer overall. In 2015, an estimated 231,840 cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S. alone,” said Przemieniecki.
