CFF Promotions donated a portion of all proceeds from the Hamburg Wine & Food Fest to help a young woman with multiple health issues.

Troy and Allison Reppert of Shillington, the co-owners of CFF Promotions and producer of the Hamburg Wine & Food Fest, learned from a friend about the plight of Megan Hickey, a young woman with multiple health issues, who was out of work, hospitalized, and struggling to survive both physically and financially. Allision Reppert said that through their church involvement they are “constantly reminded to reach out to others,” and they officially decided to direct funds toward Hickey that were raised during the Wine and Food Fest on June 27 and 28. She added that she and her husband “help to support those in need” whenever they can.

The Hamburg Wine and Food Fest was held in the Hamburg Field House and involved a wide variety of vendors from as close by as Mertztown and as far away as Vermont. Attendees were treated to free sample of wines, cakes, fudge, and beef jerky, as well as other artisan foods, in addition to the opportunity to browse through booths offering gift, personal, and home decor items.

The Hamburg community is no stranger to Troy Reppert who initiated the famous Hamburg Reptile Show that began at the Field House more than 20 years ago. Reppert produced, ran, and grew the event for many successful years before selling the show, and remembered those positive experiences when it came time to locate a venue for the Wine and Food Fest.

Mertztown winery, Antler Ridge, was present at the Fest, and tastings were poured by Julie Vorhis and Jason Miller, both of Topton. Another winery onsite and only a short drive from the Hamburg area was Blue Mountain Winery in New Tripoli. Manager, Virgil Cardamone, winery manager and native of Kempton, said that Blue Mountain “is always open to supporting local fundraising events.”

From Birdsboro, owner of Stonekeep Wine Cellar, Marc Johnson, concurred that he was “absolutely thrilled to be involved with the fundraiser” benefitting Hickey.

Vintner, Derrick Michael, was pouring wine with tasting room employee, Hallie Frantz, also of Broad Mountain Vineyard, near Elizabethville, north of Harrisburg.

Frantz summarized the consensus of vendors at the Wine and Food Fest by stating, “it not only feels good to meet with the public and introduce them to our wines, but knowing that we are doing our part here today helping Megan is heartwarming in itself.”
