New Hanover Police are searching for a man in connection with a string of burglaries from July 2.

All three burglaries took place in single family homes, within a few miles of each other. According to Sgt. William Moyer, the homes that were robbed are on side roads, off of Hill and Deepcreek roads. They all took place between 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. Police said in all three break-ins, the actor forced entry, went directly to master bedrooms and removed jewelry.

A neighbor in the area told police he encountered a man who came to his front door around noon that day. The man asked the homeowner for directions to a nearby bike path.

Police believe the man is associated with the burglaries. According to a press release from New Hanover Police, another resident saw a similar male subject near a mid-year 2000 Toyota sedan believed to be either black or dark burgundy. The witness described two white females in their late teens or early 20s standing near the car about a mile away from the neighbor who spoke with the man.

The man is described as white, about 40 years old, 5’11 – 6’2 and approximately 180 pounds with brown hair and light complexion. Police said he was wearing a casual, short sleeve shirt with no identifiable markings and “tailored” Bermuda-type shorts.
