A fire at 362 Colebrookdale Road in Douglass Township, Berks County, has been ruled a total loss for the structure.

According to Jeff Bealer, public information officer for Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue, the damage to the modular ranch-style home was estimated at $100,000.

The state police fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire.

The blaze, which was called in at 4:02 a.m. Sunday, brought out several fire companies from around the area.

Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue was assisted by Amity, Upper Pottsgrove and West Pottsgrove fire companies as well as Boyertown Ambulance and state police.

There was no damage sustained to neighboring properties, Bealer said, but the fate of the engulfed home was obvious upon arrival.

“There was nothing really to save at that point. You could see it was already gone,” he said.
