The Amity Township Board of Supervisors reminded residents on July 15 that the Monocacy Bridge will be closed for repairs, from July 21 to approximately Oct. 21.
Daniel Boone School Board President Richard Martino said the bridge closure will affect school bus routes.
The bridge is located between Route 724 and Monocacy Creek Road.
Township Manager Charles E. Lyon said the township is still compiling a request for proposal (RFP) to post for submission from local ambulance companies interested in serving the township.
He said the township doesn’t have a contractual agreement or a financial commitment with Southern Berks Regional EMS.
Southern Berks Regional EMS is currently serving the township.
“I think we need to request RFPs, to go through the formal process,” said Supervisor Richard L. Gokey.
