Tilden Township Police Officer Schwoyer slated to retire after 33 years of service, 8 years with Tilden Township

The Tilden Township Police Department announced the retirement of Officer Dennis R. Schwoyer, effective Aug. 22.

Officer Schwoyer has been with the department since Feb. 2007 and has held the positions of corporal, chief and patrolman.

Officer Schwoyer previously worked 25 years for the Hamburg Borough Police Department, retiring there Dec. 31, 2006.

Officer Schwoyer is a dedicated officer and will be missed by the members of the department and the community. He is looking forward to his retirement after serving two communities as a police officer for 33 years.

The Tilden Township Board of Supervisors agreed to offer conditional employment to Jose M. Quinones, age 28, for the open part-time police officer position. His employment is conditional upon passing the medical and psychological exams required by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission.
