The Kutztown University Small Business Development Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Josephina Encarnacion as the new Latino Business Resource Center (LBRC) director. Josephina studied Marketing at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Dominican Republic. She has a Masters in Science from Capella University and a MBA from Alvernia University. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
She has 19 years of employment history in Berks County and within these years, she has a 16-years working in the nonprofit sector as well as the healthcare industry. She has served in different government boards such as Service Access and Management and the Reading Housing Authority. She has been an adjunct faculty at the Reading Area Community College teaching Microeconomics and Financial Management. Her expertise is in human resource management, business administration, business start-up, childcare management, and food service management.
In addition, Mrs. Encarnacion is a former owner of a successful coffee shop in City of Reading. She currently owns a child care center that also requires food management program through funded by the State. In the near future, Mrs. Encarnacion is planning in launching a wholesale children’s fashion line.
